Position Summary
- Director, Strategic Enablement is an operational and thought-partner to the Head of U.S. Communications & Government Affairs, driving alignment, execution, and operational excellence across a highly matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an operational partner to the VP of U.S. Communications & Government Affairs; drive alignment across US CGA and relevant USC functions (e.g., Market Access, US Medical).
- Lead near-, medium-, and long-term projects and strategic initiatives; coordinate with other USC and Global functions.
- Translate enterprise/business priorities into coordinated functional strategies and execution plans.
- Improve collaboration, decision-making, information flow, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects for the leadership team.
- Establish/manage business rhythms (LT meetings, strategic planning, annual goal setting, budget coordination, operating reviews).
- Build scalable operational processes, governance models, and reporting; ensure execution, transparency, and accountability.
- Track strategic priorities, milestones, risks, and action items; develop dashboards/metrics/reporting.
- Coordinate resource planning/prioritization across teams.
- Prepare/oversee executive presentations, briefings, talking points, and leadership narratives.
- Facilitate leadership decision-making via structured problem solving and recommendations.
- Build partnerships across Commercial, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and Executive Leadership.
- Create an environment encouraging proactive problem-solving, strategic thinking, and operational rigor.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 10+ yearsβ experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare/public or government affairs/communications (or related).
- Experience supporting senior executives in highly matrixed organizations.
- Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and operational improvement.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders/competing priorities.
- Proven executive communication/presentation development.
- Travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree.
- Experience in Government Affairs/Public Policy/Corporate Communications/Corporate Affairs.
- Understanding of U.S. healthcare policy and pharma landscape.
- Demonstrated organizational effectiveness/operational excellence impact.
- Strategic influence and stakeholder management.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, highly visible environments.
- Analytical/problem-solving with attention to detail; high discretion for sensitive info.
- Executive presence to influence across all levels.
Compensation & Benefits (US)
- Annual base salary range: $171,000β$285,000; annual bonus; share-based long-term incentive eligibility.
