Role: Senior strategic leader in State Government Affairs for AbbVie, focusing on shaping legislative and regulatory environments across Illinois and the Midwest to support business growth and innovation. Responsibilities: develop and execute advocacy strategies, engage policymakers, build relationships with state officials, support site expansion initiatives, collaborate with internal stakeholders including Federal Affairs, Legal, and Commercial teams, represent AbbVie at political events, manage external consultants, and oversee regional lobbying compliance and budget. Requirements: 8-10 years’ experience in lobbying, public policy, or related fields; strong executive presence; deep knowledge of healthcare policies, Medicaid, state finance, and private healthcare market dynamics; proven strategic thinking and relationship-building skills; bachelor’s degree in health policy, political science, or related fields; proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office; willingness to travel approximately 40% domestically.
