Responsibilities:
- Lead and support annual strategic planning, including portfolio and external opportunity assessment and prioritization.
- Develop strategic analyses and recommendations on key corporate questions (e.g., capital allocation, portfolio strategy, long-range planning) for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Build and maintain competitive intelligence and market landscape assessments across GI and rare diseases.
- Partner with Finance, R&D, Commercial, and Investor Relations to translate strategy into operating plans and external communications.
- Lead or support out-licensing and partnership efforts for select internal assets.
- Identify product acquisition/in-licensing opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop stage-gated evaluation criteria for go/no-go decisions with minimal internal/external investment.
- Lead or support cross-functional teams to analyze opportunities and make recommendations.
- Develop transaction business cases integrating scientific, clinical, financial, and market information.
- Lead/support deal workstreams; support negotiation and execution consistent with business cases and strategic objectives.
- Negotiate amendments to agreements with current alliance partners.

Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent required; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years (Director) or 10+ years (Senior Director) in biotech/pharma with corporate development/corporate strategy/investment banking/management consulting.
- Track record negotiating/executing pharma/biotech partnership, licensing, and acquisition deals.
- Experience leading strategic analyses (market assessments, portfolio prioritization, long-range planning) and presenting to senior leadership.
- Ability to identify/prioritize opportunities, evaluate risks, develop business cases, and frame decisions.
- Ability to build rapport with therapeutic/functional area leaders and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills (financial modeling and valuation).
- Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship management.
- Experience in GI and/or rare disease desired; experience supporting Board/investor/corporate planning processes desired.
- Professionalism and confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information.
- Valid passport; travel 10–20% domestic/international.
