Role: The Director of Scientific Society & Strategic Engagement leads AstraZeneca's external engagement with medical societies, professional organizations, guideline bodies, and healthcare quality entities in the US. The primary goal is to strengthen AstraZeneca’s scientific presence and influence evidence-based practice improvements across cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic areas. Responsibilities include developing and executing engagement strategies, managing high-value relationships, aligning cross-functional teams (Medical Affairs, HEOR, Market Access, etc.), and supporting initiatives that impact clinical guidelines, quality measures, and healthcare transformation. The role also involves strategic partnership management with external stakeholders advancing innovation in care delivery and implementation science. The director will bolster AstraZeneca’s scientific credibility, provide insights into external organizational trends, and support practice change initiatives to improve patient care. Qualifications include an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MPH, MBA), 5–8 years of relevant experience in pharma, biotech, or healthcare sectors, with expertise in Respiratory & Immunology, evidence generation, and healthcare systems. Deep understanding of US healthcare landscape, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnership development are essential. Preferred experience includes relationships with medical societies, policy bodies, pre-launch or real-world evidence projects, and multi-therapeutic engagement. The position reports to US Medical leadership, involves travel as needed, and offers a hybrid work setup.
