Role: The Director of Scientific Society & Strategic Engagement leads AstraZeneca's efforts to build and execute engagement strategies with U.S. medical societies, professional organizations, guideline bodies, and healthcare quality entities, primarily within cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CVRM) fields. Objectives include strengthening scientific presence, influencing clinical practice, advancing guideline and quality measure development, and supporting healthcare transformation. Responsibilities encompass developing comprehensive engagement plans, managing high-priority external partnerships, serving as the companyβs representative in strategic interactions, and coordinating cross-functional efforts with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Market Access, and Global teams. The role also involves strategic external partnership management, scientific leadership, and initiatives to promote evidence-based practice changes, quality improvements, and care delivery innovations. The position requires an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MPH, MBA) with 5-8 years of relevant experience in pharma, biotech, or healthcare, with deep expertise in CVRM. Candidates should demonstrate success in stakeholder engagement, evidence generation, guideline development, and healthcare policy. Strong communication, relationship management, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate independently across complex matrix organizations are essential. Preferred qualifications include existing relationships with key external organizations and experience in pre-launch or launch support, real-world evidence, and health economics. The position involves travel to support external meetings and strategic activities, with a salary range of $200,693β$275,000 USD, and offers comprehensive benefits and incentive opportunities.
