Director, Research AI

Role: Strategic Director of AI leading the integration of advanced AI systems into Alnylam's RNAi drug discovery research. Responsibilities: design and deploy multi-agent workflows to automate target and ligand discovery, experimental design, data analysis, and knowledge synthesis; develop AI strategy, oversee a 3–5 person interdisciplinary team, and partner with IT for platform integration; ensure production-grade system deployment and operationalization within research. Requirements: PhD (or MS with equivalent experience) in Computational Biology, Computer Science, or AI/ML; 10+ years industry experience applying AI/ML to drug discovery; proven leadership in AI platform development; expertise in building agentic/multi-agent systems, full-stack Python, ML engineering, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP). Domain knowledge in biopharma research, nucleic acid therapeutics, and experimental workflows. Preferred: experience with lab-in-the-loop AI systems, enterprise data platforms, and regulated environments.
