Responsibilities:
- Define and oversee clinical operational data and analytics strategy for clinical systems (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce, Medidata, custom apps), aligned to R&D and business objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership across multiple concurrent projects and teams; guide large-scale, high-complexity technical workstreams.
- Lead and develop a high-performing organization (including people leadership): recruit, grow, retain talent; set goals; coach performance and career development.
- Shape short- and long-range Clinical Systems strategies and infrastructure plans.
- Partner with business stakeholders and IT leadership to define a shared long-term technical roadmap.
- Lead solution design and oversee execution of major programs/projects; step in as project leader for critical initiatives.
- Ensure on-time, high-quality, within-budget delivery via program governance and proactive risk management.
- Oversee scalable data architectures (pipelines, APIs, ETL) for secure, interoperable, analytics-ready integration.
- Partner with Validation and Quality for testing oversight, process optimization, and enhancements aligned with GxP/regulatory needs.
- Optimize R&D applications/clinical systems to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and performance.
- Oversee end-to-end SDLC deliverables; safeguard data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance.
- Create program-level budgets/resource plans; identify cross-project synergies.
- Ensure adherence to policies/processes/regulations while driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Required/Preferred Skills:
- 12+ years with BS/BA; 10+ years with MS/MA or MBA.
- Preferred: 15+ years in IT data analytics/BI with end-to-end ownership of complex analytics solutions.
- Preferred degree: CS/Data Analytics (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years technical project management or relevant leadership; 8+ years people management; 10+ years pharma/healthcare with data/analytics operations.
- Experience with AWS/cloud, AI/ML, serverless, data lakes/marts; analytics/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, ThoughtSpot).
- Working knowledge of AWS/Azure/Google Cloud; data lakes/warehouses.
- Experience operationalizing standards/metrics/methodologies.
- Exceptional executive communication/influencing; strong project leadership; advanced business knowledge; change management.
