Operations
A Typical Day In This Role Looks Like
- Identify, create and drive strategic initiatives related to the DPM and SPT operating model with direct impact to drive Development portfolio and pipeline.
- Partner with Program and Portfolio Management (PPM) Leadership Team and Development functional areas to monitor and measure implementation impacts and take action when needed.
- Develop, maintain and implement project/program management methodology, including processes, tools, metrics and policies.
- Drive consistency and standardization across program strategy execution and ensure compliance to execution methodologies and standards.
- Design and implement operating cadence (coordination meetings, project updates, overall oversight).
- Define and track operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for projects and services delivered.
- Build partnerships and manage communication with Development functional area heads and stakeholders in Research, Commercial and Manufacturing.
- Coach and develop department members to ensure skills, capabilities and processes support portfolio delivery.

Responsibilities
- Lead building and optimization of the SPT operating model and Development capabilities (processes, tools, services) to drive operational excellence.
- Design, build and manage cross-functional business-critical initiatives to accelerate portfolio delivery.
- Anticipate business needs via strategic planning and trend analysis; align stakeholders across Development interfaces.
- Hands-on contributor and people manager; solicit and action stakeholder input on the SPT operating model.

Qualifications (Required/Preferred)
- Required: Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science) and 12+ years industry experience; 5+ years in project management.
- Preferred: MBA; consulting experience; experience developing a PMO.
- Preferred: Operational Excellence, Six Sigma/LEAN, and business process management.

Skills/Experience
- Drug development and business acumen; strong matrix leadership in ambiguity.
- Analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking; strong organization and multitasking.
- Interpersonal and negotiation/influence skills across all levels, including senior leadership.
- Excellent written/verbal communication.
- IT proficiency with MS tools and project/analytics/reporting (e.g., SharePoint, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).

Onsite/Travel
- Requires 4 days onsite in Tarrytown, NY or Warren, NJ; not fully remote.
