Role Summary
Director, Program Management responsible for leading cross-functional, late-stage clinical program teams to develop and translate program strategies into cross-functional plans, ensuring delivery and maintaining strategic awareness across ImmunocoreβΓΓ΄s portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Partners with Program Lead to drive cross-functional alignment and delivery of assigned programs.
- Provide program management leadership with input into project strategy and vision; ensure alignment with operational delivery.
- Lead teams in creating comprehensive development and launch plans, including scenario planning with other functions.
- Lead teams to develop and manage marketing authorization submissions to health authorities and cross-functional launch/New Product Introduction.
- Partner with functional areas (pre-clinical, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, safety, data management) to refine and build integrated program strategy and timelines; identify critical path and keep programs on track.
- Ensure linkages between project strategy and internal processes (therapy area strategies, prioritization, resource management, corporate scorecard).
- Establish short and long-term goals; identify issues/risks and facilitate mitigation strategies.
- Coach project teams toward issue resolution and decision making; manage challenging project situations.
- Monitor deliverables and communicate program status to stakeholders via dashboards and reports.
- Facilitate day-to-day program management activities including meetings, agendas, minutes, and action items.
- Develop impactful presentations summarizing complex topics for strategic planning and governance updates.
- Keep stakeholders informed of milestones, plans, status, and decisions through regular reporting.
- Lead problem solving, decision discussions, and contingency planning for complex issues.
- Uphold program management best practices; strengthen department and drive efficiencies.
- Provide guidance on standards/templates to enable timely, informed decision making.
- Engage across levels prior to key decisions to align on questions/decisions needing resolution.
- Ensure deliverables, budgets, schedules, and performance standards are set, approved, attained, and compliant with reporting requirements.
- Champion program management methodologies and adoption of new practices; drive and execute programs.
- Promote cross-project learning and better working practices through influence.
- Assist leadership and team members with process improvements and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Essential: BS/BA in life science or related field; typically 16+ years of related experience or equivalent.
- Preferred: Masters/PhD/PharmD/MBA in immunology, biochemistry, cell biology or related; experience with BLA/MAA filings and new product launch; PMP certification preferred but not required.
Experience
- Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry in an R&D Project or Product Management role (12+ years).
- Extensive knowledge of late-stage R&D drug development processes.
- Proficiency with MS Project/Smartsheet or other PM tools; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, time management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and collaboration tools; ability to influence stakeholders and solve complex problems.
- Delivery-focused mindset with ability to scale and own projects; strong scientific background is preferred.
