Role: Lead legal privacy advisory for FMI, serving as a designated Privacy Officer and expert on U.S. and ex-U.S. data protection laws, including HIPAA, GDPR, and genetic privacy. Objectives: operationalize FMI’s enterprise privacy strategy, ensuring responsible data use and compliance across clinical, research, and commercial functions. Responsibilities: provide independent legal guidance, manage privacy incidents, draft and negotiate data-related agreements, support privacy policies and training, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school with active U.S. bar membership; 8+ years in data privacy law, ideally within healthcare or life sciences. Preferred: in-house experience at healthcare, biotech, or diagnostics firms, advising on HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and genetic privacy; CIPP/US or E, certification; management experience; strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
