Role Summary

Director, Predictive Analytics and AI leads a Data Science team in pharmaceutical commercialization, driving innovation in predictive modeling, machine learning, agentic AI, and generative AI to enhance patient identification, HCP targeting, and omnichannel engagement. The role is strategic and hands-on, focusing on translating analytics into actionable business solutions and delivering commercial excellence across multiple therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Advance Data Science and AI capabilities driving predictive models for patient finding, HCP targeting and prioritization, Next Best Action engines, and predictive segmentations.
  • Advance Predictive Analytics for US franchises including GI, NS, PDT, and Rare Diseases, including new product launches or indications.
  • Partner with business units, Analytics & Insights, Marketing and Sales Ops, Data CoEs to define use cases and integrate predictive modelโ€“driven decisioning into business decisions.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a future-oriented data science strategy for commercialization, focusing on predictive and machine learning models to solve complex business challenges.
  • Predictive Modeling & AI Innovation: Design and deploy predictive models and AI/ML algorithms for applications such as trialist identification, patient segmentation, NBA, and HCP prioritization; create scalable, reusable frameworks for AI/ML experimentation and deployment across therapeutic areas.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business impact and integrate third-party data for enhanced patient identification and predictive segmentation.
  • Mentor and develop talent: Lead and develop a high-performing data science team, promoting continuous learning and adoption of AI techniques.
  • GenAI and Agentic AI Initiatives: Lead GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives aligned with organizational goals to enhance analytics capabilities and automate insights generation.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Evolve analytical methods and toolsets to meet evolving business needs and provide ongoing insights into execution.
  • Strategic Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with analytics, forecasting, and clinical heads to translate business needs into predictive modeling strategies.
  • Vendor & Project Management: Manage relationships with vendors, oversee project timelines and budgets, and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree; masterโ€™s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or related field highly preferred.
  • Required: 10+ years of hands-on AI/ML modeling experience, with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical commercial analytics or healthcare setting.
  • Required: 5+ years of prior management experience.
  • Required: Proficiency in AI with demonstrated GenAI and Agentic AI methodologies and solutions.
  • Required: Strong technical expertise in machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, and AI personalization use cases.
  • Required: Proficient in Python, R, SQL, Databricks; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Required: Experience with pharma data (IQVIA, Veeva, SP, claims, digital marketing) and understanding of compliance and privacy considerations.
  • Required: Ability to convey complex insights to non-technical audiences and mentor others in presentation skills.
  • Required: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Required: Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Required: Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization and ability to motivate high performance.
  • Required: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Preferred: Travel ability up to 15% (occasional domestic overnight travel).

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's or Ph.D. in related field highly preferred.
