Corporate Functions
Responsibilities:
- Identify and capture new inventions related to therapeutic antibodies, therapeutic antibody formulations, or methods of treatment based on preclinical or clinical research.
- Work with outside counsel to prepare and prosecute US and international patent applications.
- Manage coordinated global patent strategies.
- Assist with US or foreign patent administrative actions (e.g., post-grant oppositions, post-grant reviews).
- Monitor clinical programs and ongoing R&D, including reviewing planned publications/disclosures.
- Conduct or assist with patent landscape, freedom-to-operate, or competitive intelligence assessments related to therapeutic molecules.
- Assist in litigation or transactional activities as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and handle a large, complex docket with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information accurately and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal skills; build trust with colleagues and clients.
Required:
- Ph.D. in the life sciences (e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related fields).
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice before the USPTO and licensed to practice in at least one state (NY bar member or eligible for in-house licensure in NY).
- 4–5+ years preparing and prosecuting life-sciences patent applications (law firm and/or corporate law department).
- Experience with large molecule biologics, especially antibodies.
Onsite/Work arrangement:
- 4 days onsite at headquarters in Tarrytown, NY; not open to fully remote work.
