Responsibilities:
- Assist in development of the Operations Excellence Program with the Corporate PWS Leader and execute it at the plant level.
- Supervise, support, coach, train, and develop the Plant Operating team to enable program execution.
- Monitor day-to-day plant performance, including unplanned losses in operations; drive improvements in Safety, Quality, and Productivity losses.
- Oversee compliance with current Good Manufacturing Procedures; review SOP changes and monitor training/enforcement to ensure SOP adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Productivity losses using problem-solving tools/methodologies.
- Monitor key performance indicators and foster teamwork across functions (Engineering, Safety, Asset Reliability, Quality, etc.) to close gaps.
- Develop training and development plans for direct and indirect team reports.
- Perform root-cause failure analysis for losses using economic evaluation and critical thinking.
- Recruit/hire, conduct performance evaluations, manage attendance/payroll, succession planning, and recognition.
- Ensure repairs/modifications are implemented from gap assessments, plant audits, notifications, and loss-improvement activities.
- Participate in capacity/budget planning and make/present recommendations to plant management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree (business/management/engineering or related) plus 10+ years manufacturing experience.
- FDA experience and Union experience.
- Infant formula experience (ideal); at least food experience.
- Continuous improvement knowledge (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, TPM, RCA).
- Knowledge of cGMPs; experience supervising in pharmaceutical/nutritional operations.
- Firsthand experience managing infant nutritional manufacturing operations, or management experience with spray drying facilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, analytical skills, and decision-making.
- Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas/shifts and manage in high-pressure environments.
- Computer systems: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, CMMS, BI).
