Director of Learning and Development (EMD / Sleep)

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Strategy & Direction
- Set direction for the L&D EMD / Sleep team aligned with business priorities.
- Translate business needs into team priorities, scope, and success measures via needs assessment.
- Partner to turn disease strategies, launch priorities, and capability needs into role-based learnings and training roadmaps.
- Oversee design, delivery, and facilitation of training solutions (onboarding, launch readiness, key account excellence, skill building, mindset reinforcement) to improve field effectiveness.
- Ensure training quality with clear expectations; measure and monitor effectiveness and continuously improve using stakeholder feedback.
- Build and lead a scalable, high-performing team.

Collaboration
- Serve as senior CX L&D representative to align learning priorities with franchise and launch needs.
- Represent the team in cross-functional forums and planning discussions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of adult learning, instructional design, and learning program development.
- Strong judgment balancing strategy, design, and delivery realities; scalable, practical solutions.
- Proven leadership delivering learning programs in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Experience leading teams (resource planning, performance management, talent development).
- Oversee training development for CRM systems, data analytics, and digital tools; leverage insights/analytics for account planning and engagement.
- Mentor/coach a team of 5 Sr. Training Managers and 1 Assoc. Director; steward regulatory compliance between Commercial and Medical Affairs L&D initiatives.

Business Skills
- Cross-functional matrix collaboration; learning agility; systems thinking; adoption; continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, technology, or related field.
- 10+ years in L&D/capability building/commercial excellence in pharma.
- 6–8 years people leadership; experience leading teams of Senior Managers/Associate Directors.

Preferred
- MBA or relevant graduate degree; healthcare/pharma regulated industry experience.
- Rare disease/specialty brand experience; Sleep and/or Epilepsy experience.

Working Requirements
- 30–40% travel.
