As part of the Corporate Business and Strategy Office and Business Development & Acquisiton (BD&A) function, the Director of Business Development & Acquisitions - Analytics and Operations will drive development and execution of the BD strategy, building AI-enabled analytics to make the function faster and sharper at dealmaking.

Core Responsibilities – BD&A Analytics:
- Lead design and deployment of AI-enabled analytics (peer analysis, deal comparables, contract analyses, automated screening models, competitive/market intelligence)
- Apply AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to synthesize market/scientific/financial/competitive/pipeline data into actionable insights
- Ensure pull through against TA-level BD strategy (prioritization of targets/opportunities/capabilities) and lead External Innovation initiatives
- Support BD Strategy process and communication to leadership
- Act as bridge/integrator across functions during large deals (R&D, Commercial, Finance, BD and S&E)
- Support BD&A/S&E leads with transaction background (market, financial, or scientific)
- Deepen therapeutic priorities institutional knowledge

Core Responsibilities – Director of BD&A Operations:
- Own BD&A operating rhythm (meetings, annual planning, goal-tracking with agendas/pre-reads/follow-through)
- Drive special projects and cross-functional initiatives aligned to TA/BD priorities and pipeline goals
- Coordinate BD&A priorities with partners (R&D, Finance, Legal, Corporate Strategy)
- Prepare VP for executive committees (content, synthesize info, sharpen deal narratives, anticipate questions)
- Triaging/follow-up of inbound partnering/M&A from external advisors
- Track external contacts and required follow-ups
- Lead BD&A strategic planning (capability assessment, gap identification, plans to address needs)
- Communicate and champion department vision/mission/objectives; track/synthesize progress
- Develop training initiatives
- Represent function on committees/workstreams and drive responsible AI adoption (training, best practices, governance)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s required; advanced degree (PharmD/PhD/MD/MBA) highly preferred
- Experience: 10+ years (Bachelor’s), 8+ (Master’s), 6+ (PhD) driving large cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Strong understanding of drug development, regulatory, and commercialization processes
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI/ML/automation/advanced analytics for strategic decision-making and portfolio strategy
- Demonstrated ability to drive large cross-functional teams in matrixed environments
- Strong executive communication skills
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- Team leadership experience strongly preferred
