Role Summary
Director of Business Development responsible for identifying clinical stage and ex-USA approved drug candidates for acquisition or license, and for building and maintaining a broad network of researchers, clinicians, and industry partners. The role involves extensive networking, collaboration with internal diligence and transactional teams, and working with senior management to identify novel therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Identifying clinical stage and ex-USA approved drug candidates for acquisition or license from key academic, corporate, or other entities involved in drug research and development
- Networking extensively, including significant cold outreach, to establish and maintain relationships with leading academic researchers, clinicians and industry leaders; maintain list of contacts in our CRM for networking and news distribution
- Engaging with key opinion leaders in targeted therapeutic categories to find new product opportunities
Qualifications
- Medical degree is required
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Preferred: Driven and disciplined with a career focus in biopharmaceuticals
- Preferred: Naturally curious learner excited to dive into multiple drug candidates and therapeutic areas
- Preferred: Ability to network extensively and engage both academic and commercial sectors of biopharma
- Preferred: Comfortable on the phone and in virtual meetings
- Preferred: Exceptional organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams
- Preferred: Ability to cultivate substantive relationships and credibility with internal and external parties
