Role Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting a Priority Accounts team in an assigned geography. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role. The Director, Neuroscience Priority Accounts leads the regional priority account team to meet and exceed objectives across the Neuroscience portfolio, develops and executes the Regional Priority Accounts engagement strategy, and oversees cross-functional account planning with aligned resources while acting with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the needs of customers at all levels from departments to C-suite, leveraging insights to anticipate trends and articulate priorities to deliver outcomes.
  • Craft strategic approaches aligned with Novartis goals, foster key customer relationships, and enhance interactions with accounts.
  • Manage and lead strategy and execution by coordinating collaboration among headquarters, accounts, and regional leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with account executives at the C-suite and D-suite levels, serving as the main neuroscience contact for account partners to facilitate exchanges with executives and headquarters.
  • Foster teamwork and lead collaboration across Customer Engagement teams for the neuroscience portfolio to involve multiple functional areas and remove obstacles.
  • Own account performance with a performance-driven mindset and drive opportunities to impact demand generation and achievement of account targets.
  • Facilitate efficient communication between Novartis and key accounts, coordinating internally to relay strategic changes and align with the company‚Äôs objectives and vision.
  • Lead a team of Priority Account Managers to drive product pull-through in targeted accounts with accountability and resource alignment, coaching and supporting associates‚Äô growth and ensuring high performance and ethics adherence.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor‚Äôs degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Required: 10+ years‚Äô experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams; candidates from other complex sales environments with strong field leadership and customer engagement are welcome.
  • Required: 2+ years‚Äô experience in first-line leadership, demonstrating strategic thinking and an enterprise mindset within relevant sales, account management, or market access roles.
  • Required: 2+ years‚Äô experience translating strategy into actionable plans and delivering measurable results in account management.
  • Required: 2+ years‚Äô experience leading sophisticated, cross-functional projects requiring national alignment and collaboration.
  • Required: Recent US experience (within last 5 years) with deep understanding of the US healthcare ecosystem.
  • Required: Proven success in frontline sales and product launches with strong business acumen, healthcare ecosystem expertise, digital engagement proficiency, and ability to thrive in complex, matrixed environments while building high-performing teams.
  • Required: Must reside within the region or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 100 miles from the region border. Ability to travel 60-80% over a broad geography; must have a valid driver‚Äôs license.
  • Preferred: Deep expertise in neuroscience account management and experience guiding large-scale teams and enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to build partnerships across healthcare systems from Academic Medical Centers to C-suite decision makers, navigating broader economic forces affecting clinical and operational strategies.
