Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national/regional payer engagement strategies across commercial, Medicare Part D/MA-PD, managed Medicaid, FFS Medicaid, VA/Tricare/DoD, and PBMs to support appropriate coverage and patient access.
- Anticipate payer evidence needs; partner with HEOR and Medical to inform value evidence and access strategy.
- Provide strategic input on contracting, distribution networks, coverage considerations, and pharmacy-benefit dynamics.
- Build and maintain compliant senior payer relationships; lead executive-level discussions on coverage, prior authorization, utilization management, and formulary review.
- Create customized, data-driven account plans; deliver approved clinical/economic/real-world evidence presentations.
- Recommend payer coverage/utilization-management strategies for compliant pre-/post-launch planning; develop payer-facing resources.
- Support launch readiness (account prioritization, market access strategy) and pre-approval information exchange (PIE) planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Sales, and Distribution.
- Represent the company at industry forums (AMCP, PCMA, Asembia) and monitor payer/pharmacy trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; PharmD/MBA/MPH strongly preferred.
- 10+ years in pharma/biotech.
- 5+ years managing national/regional payers and PBMs (commercial, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, VA/Tricare/DoD, IDN).
- Proven experience in rare disease/specialty therapy launch and/or access planning in pharmacy-benefit channels.
- Deep knowledge of PBM models, specialty pharmacy networks, utilization management, reimbursement pathways, payer decision-making.
- Evidence presentation and compliant payer resource/policy support experience.
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, analytics, communication, and relationship-building.
- Ability to travel 25β50%.
Work Location/Conditions
- Remote in the U.S.; travel to Cambridge, MA several times/year.
- Not hiring from AK, AZ, HI, MI, TN.
Compensation
- Estimated pay range: $223,000β$265,000 USD.
