Role: Lead and oversee a regional or national Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team within Takeda's US Medical Affairs Oncology division. Objectives include guiding MSL field activities, talent development, and ensuring strategic execution aligned with business goals. Responsibilities encompass supervising 6-10 MSLs, recruiting and mentoring talent, developing and implementing field strategies, managing compliance, and fostering cross-functional collaborations. The role requires maintaining scientific expertise in oncology, particularly in hematology with focus on myeloma and leukemia, and supporting various internal teams such as Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial. Qualifications include an advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP), at least 7 years of Medical Affairs experience with 4+ years in Field Medical roles, and specific oncology experience. Preferred skills include prior MSL experience and experience in cross-functional team leadership. The position involves approximately 50% travel, including international trips, and is based remotely in New Jersey, with flexibility for virtual work. The role emphasizes compliance, strategic planning, and scientific discussion in hematology/oncology, contributing to the advancement of Takeda’s oncology portfolio.
