Director, Medical Payer Strategy, Eye Care and Neurotoxins

Responsibilities:
- Drive development and execution of market access payer, IDN, guidelines, and clinical pathway scientific strategies across all access decision-makers.
- Support scientific and market access needs across brand/market access commercial, HEOR, and medical affairs in a highly matrixed environment.
- Serve as Medical Payer Strategy (MPS) subject matter expert; translate scientific and HEOR data with cross-functional stakeholders (Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, Clinical Development).
- Integrate medical access evidence needs into gaps assessment; represent V&A MPS on key cross-functional teams.
- Develop and execute medical affairs access/HCDM strategy across payer, distribution, IDN, and GPO channels.
- Lead HCDM-focused pharmacoeconomic and medical education initiatives (materials, advisories, symposia) and support RWE research.
- Lead RWE plan with HEOR aligned to Medical Affairs Evidence Gaps; oversee high-quality data generation and train stakeholders.
- Stay current on scientific, health economic, and payer policy; represent AbbVie at industry conferences.
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate/divisional policies; serve as scientific interface for key regulatory/OEC/Legal discussions.

Qualifications:
- PhD, PharmD, PA, NP highly preferred.
- Typically 8+ years in pharma (managed care understanding required; pharmacoeconomics preferred).
- Project-level management/leadership; cross-functional leadership; international experience a plus.
- Eye Care or Neuroscience preferred.
- Ability to advance RWE/medical affairs research independently; knowledge of statistical methods, RWE regulatory requirements, and RWE protocol design.
- Excellent oral/written communication; mostly independent with limited guidance.
