Role: Compliance Director responsible for establishing and operationalizing Flagship Pioneering's government contracts and grants compliance program. Objectives: design policies, training, monitoring, reporting, and controls to meet federal, international, and private fund regulatory obligations, while scaling compliance across expanding operations. Responsibilities: build controls and documentation for government-funded programs, monitor evolving financial services and capital markets regulations (e.g., SEC, fund structures), develop compliance frameworks for fund operations (investor communications, conflicts, personal trading, books/records), coordinate international compliance standards, and partner with finance and legal teams. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years in compliance, regulatory or government contracts, ideally with federal government contracting experience (FAR/DFARS), grants, or private fund compliance; familiarity with financial services regulations (e.g., SEC, Advisers Act) preferred. Skills: knowledge of compliance program design, translating complex regulations into scalable processes, project management, strong communication, and relationship-building; capacity to leverage AI legal tools.
