Director, Leadership Communications
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute a comprehensive communications strategy supporting R&D, Technical Operations (TOPS), and Business Development across executive visibility, thought leadership, internal communications, and key engagement forums.
- Align functional messaging with enterprise priorities to ensure clarity and consistency across leadership communications.
- Strengthen BioMarinโs external profile by positioning executives at relevant industry/external events.
- Enable leaders to engage and inspire organizations through a consistent cadence of all-hands meetings, internal communications, and team activations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on messaging, positioning, and audience engagement.
- Develop executive communications materials (speeches, presentations, emails, and social content).
- Support internal and external speaking engagements end-to-end (content development, preparation, and feedback).
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
- Continuously evolve communications approaches by introducing new ideas, formats, and channels.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 10+ years in public relations leading corporate or internal communications in biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry.
- Sound judgment and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent writing/storytelling and verbal communications skills.
- Track record building consensus and influence across complex organizations.
- Team-oriented work style.
- Experience driving internal communications strategies across channels/tools.
- Experience in executive communications and change management communications.
- Successful issues/crisis management.
- Bachelorโs degree in communications, journalism, or liberal arts.
Preferred Skills:
- Executive/corporate communications experience in pharma/biotech (or related).
- Strong executive presence and discretion.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution; able to operate at both high-level and detail-oriented scopes.
- Ability to drive alignment in matrixed organizations and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting major business milestones (transactions, integrations, pipeline events).
