The Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing operations of the companyโs enterprise IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a multi-year IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with growth and digital transformation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop an infrastructure team across multiple sites.
- Partner with IS leadership and business stakeholders to align investments with priorities and compliance requirements.
- Establish and manage infrastructure budgets, vendor contracts, and technology refresh cycles.
- Develop and communicate infrastructure KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics.
- Oversee virtualization infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory.
- Drive hybrid cloud strategy and operations across Azure and AWS (optimize workload placement, cost, and performance).
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Oversee network infrastructure (LAN/WAN and SD-WAN) across sites and cloud tenants.
- Oversee server patching and configuration management standards.
- Lead capacity planning and performance monitoring.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (as applicable) and support audits.
- Maintain/test disaster recovery and incident response plans.
- Lead infrastructure projects (consolidations, cloud migrations, site expansions).
- Manage vendor/MSP relationships.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelorโs degree in CS/IS/IT or related field.
- 10+ years IT infrastructure experience; 4+ years in senior leadership/director role.
- Hands-on virtualization expertise (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V).
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory.
- Strong AWS and Azure knowledge (architecture, operations, cost, security).
- Multi-site enterprise IT experience in a regulated industry.
- Proven infrastructure team leadership.
- Network architecture/security and ITIL-based service management.
- Infrastructure compliance knowledge (GxP, SOX, HIPAA).
Preferred:
- VMware VCP/VCAP, Azure Admin/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or ITIL v4.
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep).
- Lab/manufacturing IT experience (OT/IT convergence) in pharma/life sciences.
- Strategic, communicative, highly organized, collaborative, data-driven.
Benefits/Pay/Application:
- Onsite 5 days/week.
- Wisconsin pay range: $190,000โ$210,000; California pay range: $210,000โ$230,000.
