The Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) leads the development and execution of projects for on-market and/or pipeline development assets, representing HEOR on cross-functional asset/brand teams and pipeline commercialization teams. Accountable for HEOR strategies and execution for at least one asset and/or indication for US or international. May manage 1β2 full-time direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee design and conduct of projects; communicate findings and strategic impact to internal and external audiences.
- Provide product leadership for HEOR strategic direction aligned with business goals with cross-functional partners.
- Ensure project plans align with product strategic plans from matrix teams and commercial interests; provide updates and own/share execution decisions.
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery of the HEOR book of work (from strategy development to content pull-through).
- Ensure strong partnership with relevant HEOR COE functions so HEOR voice is represented in cross-functional meetings.
- Maintain executive presence and engage senior leaders cross-functionally.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in health economics or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 yearsβ experience with a Masterβs; 5 years with a PhD (fellowship experience may count). Health-field training (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus.
- Preferred: PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or (pharmaco)epidemiology; 3 years relevant experience. Clinical research experience strongly recommended (pharma preferred). Experience leading complex products/clinical development for pipeline and on-market.
- Typically 3+ years clinical development experience in pharma, CRO, academia, or consulting; expert knowledge in a therapeutic specialty.
- Proven cross-functional global leadership; ability to interact internally/externally to support global business strategy.
- Ability to direct compliance in complex regulatory environments.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to priority conflicts and resource constraints.
- Extensive knowledge of global regulatory, HTA, and PR&A landscape.
- Skills to lead cross-functional teams and manage scientific personnel; act as HEOR champion/spokesperson; self-starter with desire for commercial success.
