Corporate Functions
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform identification, research, analysis, and documentation of accounting topics (operational projects, business initiatives, contractual agreements) to ensure compliance with Sanofi Global Guide of Accounting (SAGA) and IFRS.
- Provide technical accounting advice on revenue recognition (out-licensing), mergers & acquisitions, divestments, alliances, collaboration agreements, R&D in-licensing arrangements, and lease agreements.
- Review proposed accounting treatments for financial instruments (Corporate Treasury) and assess group accounting consequences for contemplated transactions (based on facts and circumstances).
- Collaborate with Consolidations & Statutory Reporting and other teams (Account to Report, Tax, External Auditors) on reporting/disclosure and accounting consequences.
- Write and communicate accounting position papers/memos for impacted internal groups and external auditors.
- Coordinate with Internal Control on formalization of accounting treatments and perform SOX requirements as needed.
- Assess impacts of new accounting/reporting pronouncements on existing/new contractual arrangements and operational initiatives.
- Provide input to the Group accounting manual; participate in global accounts committees.
- Support Finance “hard closing” by ensuring documentation/conclusion of one-off complex transactions and completeness/timeliness aligned with stakeholders and external auditors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year accredited program); specialization: Accounting.
- 7–10 years of professional experience.
- CPA certification.
- Management/supervision experience in a public accounting firm.
- Knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS required.
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge a plus.
