Role Summary

Director, Global Real-World Evidence who will drive the development and execution of industry-leading RWE strategies across the J&J Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO), turning strategies into action. Lead cross-functional collaborations to enhance global launch readiness through evidence-based decisions and investments, and manage partnerships with groups such as Global Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, Epidemiology, and data sciences teams.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development and implementation of global Real-World Evidence (RWE) strategies and evidence generation initiatives.
  • Formulating research objectives, ensuring cross-functional alignment, designing study protocols, evaluating methodologies, overseeing data collection and analysis, and disseminating findings through publication to support medical adoption and product differentiation.
  • Serving as the Global RWE team's representative on cross-functional and cross-regional teams; developing collaborations with Global Medical Affairs, Global Market Access, and other evidence generation partners; leading the creation of global RWE strategies and integrating them into the Global Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP).
  • Overseeing execution of complex RWE programs on a global scale; managing budgets, vendors, timelines, data quality, and deliverables.
  • Establishing internal governance, processes, training, and standardization of fit-for-purpose RWE generation; ensuring regulatory, legal, and commercial compliance in RW research and dissemination of scientific information.
  • Coordinating and executing Evidence Labs, facilitating research concept development and stakeholder alignment through the worldwide IEGP process.
  • Shaping and evolving organizational standards, best practices, and internal RWE capabilities across functions and regions.

Qualifications

  • Required: Master’s degree in public health, health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, (bio)statistics or related quantitative fields; Doctorate or advanced degree preferred.
  • Required: Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in RWE, epidemiology, HEOR, healthcare data science, or evidence generation in medical affairs/market access.
  • Required: Fluency in advanced statistical methodologies and emerging RWE approaches, with knowledge of AI, machine learning, and causal inference.
  • Required: Proven track record in conducting observational research (prospective and retrospective), including study design, database assessment, protocol development, execution, dissemination, and publication.
  • Required: Working knowledge of the global healthcare landscape across key international markets.
  • Required: Strong communication and presentation skills to convey research concepts and statistical results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Required: Highly motivated, with excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: Experience working in a matrix team environment.
