Director, Global Program Lead, External Innovation & Due Diligence

Role: The Director, External Innovation leads R&D due diligence for external assets, primarily clinical-stage programs, in neuroscience, psychiatry, and rare diseases. Responsibilities include managing cross-functional evaluations, developing integrated development scenarios, and supporting investment decisions through strategic scientific, clinical, and commercial assessments. The role involves synthesizing complex data into clear recommendations, collaborating with Business Development on licensing and acquisitions, and maintaining external scientific relationships. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (advanced degree preferred), 10-12 years of industry experience in pharma or biotech, with proven expertise in global R&D program management, clinical-stage assets, and portfolio strategy. Experience in neuroscience or rare diseases is preferred. The position requires strong scientific evaluation skills, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge of drug development processes. The role reports to senior leadership, supports strategic decision-making, and involves domestic and international travel. Located in San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Princeton, NJ, with a hybrid work model.
