Director, Global Forecasting COE Standards & Training

Core Job Responsibilities
Forecasting Standards & Best Practices
- Own the vision and direction for AbbVie’s Global Forecasting Standards (frameworks, methodologies, best practices) across all business units globally.
- Lead ongoing development, documentation, and maintenance of forecasting standards; ensure alignment with current methodology, evolving business needs, and external best practices.
- Monitor forecasting practices across US, International, and Allergan Aesthetics; drive standardization and determine where guidance/intervention is needed.
- Maintain internal/external resource network to inform continuous improvement and incorporate best-in-class industry practices.
- Partner with functional forecasting leaders and Forecast Champions to ensure standards fit local forecasting environments.

Forecaster Training & Capability Development
- Set strategic direction for the forecasting training curriculum (scope, sequencing, learning objectives).
- Design, develop, and deploy training content: onboarding; methodology modules (trending, event modeling, patient flow, analog research); data literacy curricula (e.g., IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, patient flow/new starts, epidemiology); advanced/elective modules.
- Facilitate access to external training programs and industry resources.

Change Management & Forecaster Engagement
- Own COE forecaster engagement strategy.
- Lead change management/adoption programs for new standards, tools, and processes.
- Direct engagement liaisons to ensure consistent standards use and surface adoption challenges.
- Lead liaisons in managing the Forecast Champions network and establish forums/cadences for updates.

Strategic Consultation & Forecasting Guidance
- Serve as subject matter authority; advise on novel/complex forecasting challenges.
- Provide guidance on analog research, event modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Advise on cross-functional initiatives (launches, LOE planning, label changes).

Team / People Leadership
- Lead the team delivering training, standards documentation, engagement programs, and change management.
- Own prioritization/work planning and resource allocation.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and career development.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years quantitative/analytical experience in pharma/biotech/life sciences.
- 10+ years direct forecasting experience (developing/maintaining forecasting models).
- Ability to set direction and drive adoption without formal authority.
- Deep familiarity with pharma data sources (IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, patient flow, epidemiology) and strategic use.
- Experience designing/leading corporate/commercial training or capability programs.
- Strong communication (executive presence, analytical storytelling, presentations adaptable to diverse audiences).
- Proven influence across cross-functional/cross-cultural environments.
- Strong stakeholder management; ability to constructively challenge partners.

Preferred
- Experience developing/maintaining standards/governance frameworks in a CoE.
- Expertise in purpose-built forecasting tools (Forecast Horizon, ForecastPro, FlexiCast).
- Familiarity with PowerBI/SQL/Tableau.
- International/multi-geography forecasting experience.
