Forecasting Standards & Best Practices
- Own the vision and direction for AbbVieโs Global Forecasting Standards globally.
- Lead development, documentation, and maintenance of Global Forecasting Standards.
- Monitor forecasting practices across US, International, and Allergan Aesthetics; identify opportunities for standardization and guidance.
- Maintain internal/external resource network to continuously improve standards.
- Partner with functional forecasting leaders and Forecast Champions.
Forecaster Training & Capability Development
- Set strategic direction for forecasting training curriculum (scope, sequencing, learning objectives).
- Design, develop, and deploy training content, including onboarding, methodology modules (trending, event modeling, patient flow, analog research), data literacy curricula (e.g., IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, epidemiology), and advanced modules.
- Facilitate access to external training programs and industry resources.
Change Management & Forecaster Engagement
- Own COE strategy for forecaster engagement.
- Lead change management/adoption for new standards, tools, and processes.
- Direct Engagement Liaisons; support escalation of adoption challenges.
- Manage Forecast Champions network and run communication forums/cadence.
Strategic Consultation & Forecasting Guidance
- Advise on novel/complex forecasting methodology; provide guidance on analog research, event modeling, scenario analysis, and key cross-functional initiatives.
Team/People Leadership
- Lead team executing training delivery, standards documentation, engagement, and change management.
- Own team prioritization/work planning; provide feedback/coaching and career development.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelorโs in a quantitative field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years in pharma/biotech/life sciences quantitative/analytical roles.
- 10+ years direct forecasting experience (build/maintain models).
- Proven ability to influence without formal authority.
- Deep familiarity with pharma data sources (IQVIA TRx/NBRx, 852/867, patient flow, epidemiology).
- Experience designing and leading training/capability programs.
- Strong communication and executive presence.
- Strong cross-functional/cross-cultural stakeholder management.
Preferred:
- Experience building governance/standards in a COE.
- Expertise with forecasting tools (Forecast Horizon, ForecastPro, FlexiCast).
- Data visualization/analytical tools (PowerBI, SQL, Tableau).
- International/multi-geography forecasting experience.
