Operations
Purpose:
Provide project management, direction, and oversight to the Global Engineering Programs department. Coordinate facility and utility projects to ensure adherence to AbbVie Standards and Specifications. Develop resource plans for approved projects and recommend use of internal and/or external resources for planning, design, and execution. Establish relationships with external engineering and construction organizations to meet design, schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Manage and leverage common engineering systems.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for processes, policies, and procedures for Capital and Facilities Planning, Engineering Best practices and Systems, and the Engineering Center of Excellence.
- Define and document Good Engineering Practice and Project Execution Methodology; track execution for targeted projects and report performance metrics.
- Strategic planning and facility asset utilization corporate-wide, including LRP facilities/space master planning.
- Corporate-wide capital planning for major (>$5MM) Facilities/Utilities/Equipment investments.
- Benchmark project management best practices within AbbVie and with peer organizations.
- Provide and oversee discipline-specific engineering expertise via AbbVie’s Technical Experts group.
- Accountable for overall Engineering Capital Plan (~$400MM) and departmental payroll/expense budget, including outside contractor services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture; Master’s in Master of Management or MBA preferred.
- 10–15 years experience as Manager, Project Engineering (required).
