Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and evolution of field roles, aligning responsibilities to customer archetypes, targeting strategies, and modern engagement models.
- Define role competencies, accountabilities, and interfaces to reduce overlap and enable cross-role collaboration.
- Develop field deployment models that optimize resource allocation and effectiveness across therapeutic areas and portfolios.
- Reimagine field roles as part of an integrated engagement ecosystem balancing human expertise, digital capabilities, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Partner with People & Organization (P&O), Field Leadership, and Capability teams to align role design with talent strategies and organizational priorities.
- Articulate role architectures, interfaces, and talent pathways to support development, mobility, and long-term sustainability.
- Establish boundaries between role architecture and capability building to enable shared ownership with talent development teams.
- Create documentation and guidance to ensure consistent understanding and application of field role designs.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor models, and internal feedback to refine field role design.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement in how field roles are designed and deployed.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 8+ yearsβ experience in field force strategy, role design, or organizational effectiveness (pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare or similar) with large geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience designing/evolving role architectures in large matrixed organizations.
- Deep understanding of field deployment models and cross-functional engagement/account team structures.
- Proven ability to partner with P&O, field leadership, and capability teams.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and facilitation skills; translate complexity into actionable frameworks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience building scalable, data-informed models.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience leading/contributing to transformation initiatives; exposure to large-scale change programs.
- Familiarity with modern commercial ecosystems (digital engagement platforms, CRM systems, emerging technologies, and/or customer-facing roles).
