Purpose:
The Director, Finance Transformation supports AbbVie’s enterprise-wide finance transformation strategy with executive leadership. Leads and delivers Finance Transformation programs across People & Change, Process Change and Improvement, and Technology Enablement for the global Finance organization, overseeing the full transformation lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Program Planning & Delivery Management
- Coordinate, mentor, and develop program managers to maintain a transformation roadmap (scope, achievements, critical path, interdependencies).
- Set vision and strategy for transformation programs aligned to enterprise goals.
- Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and reduce program risks/dependencies; ensure regulatory, compliance, and operational risks are addressed.
- Raise critical risks, establish baseline plans, track progress, and apply corrective actions.
- Drive results in a matrixed environment across global, cross-functional teams.

Program Governance & Control
- Maintain governance for operating model transformation (steering committees, program approvals, build workshops).
- Track and resolve decisions, actions, and dependencies in a timely manner.
- Develop and monitor processes/metrics for actionable reporting to steering committees and executive leadership.

Collaboration & Communication
- Build relationships with business leaders and cross-functional partners; align roadmap.
- Create executive communication/reporting strategy.
- Produce program reporting (dashboards, status reports, executive packs).
- Assess internal/external partner performance and ensure escalation/resolution.

Change Enablement & Continuous Improvement
- Design and oversee training for new processes, frameworks, and tools.
- Define/monitor adoption and readiness metrics.
- Coordinate pilots, phased rollouts, and post-implementation reviews.
- Champion innovation via leading practices, emerging technologies, automation, and visualization tools.
- Mentor and develop talent.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
- Minimum 12 years progressive leadership experience.
- Strong financial acumen and familiarity with financial systems/processes.
- Excellent communication skills for non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership; influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience working independently with senior leadership on strategic/tactical/confidential issues.
- Project management for multiple simultaneous projects.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Advanced analytical and process diagnostic skills; ability to work details while driving “big picture” objectives.
- Comfort with data, metrics, and dashboards.
- Strong conflict resolution for win/win outcomes in matrix settings.
- Ability to deliver feedback and recognize performance/corrective actions.
