Role Summary
Director, Field Reimbursement (Southeast Region) responsible for hiring and leading a newly created team of Field Reimbursement Managers, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to remove access barriers, provide pull-through and issue resolution, and supervising the FRM team.
This is a cross-functional front-line leader role, field-based and requiring travel to develop the team and expand internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
- Hire and lead FRM Region, driving results, coaching, developing team members, and managing performance
- Attract, develop, empower, and retain people by rewarding and recognizing performance, minimizing attrition
- Develop and implement regional, territory, and account business plans with live/virtual interactions and prioritization by the FRM team
- Plan, lead, and conduct plan of action and meetings with Market Access NADs, Market Access ADs, and Patient Services
- Coach FRMs to improve consultative skills, account management, and capabilities; lead by example in-person and virtually
- Establish positive working relationships with cross-functional members across the Region, including Sales and Market Access
- Maintain technical expertise to respond to questions on payer access, policies, and patient support solutions
- Be an expert on Axsome patient support programs, payer utilization management, access issue resolution, and financial assistance
- Advise in the development of tools and resources to support the FRM team
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and processes; actions of self and team are compliant
- Enable FRMs to collaborate with Managed Markets and Sales to resolve patient access obstacles; communicate access concerns to internal stakeholders
- Complete administrative duties accurately and timely
- Overnight travel as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- BA or BS required; Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years in healthcare, field customer or account management in pharma, with at least 3 years in field leadership and/or payer account management
- Proven record of attracting, retaining, and developing top talent
- Experience in entrepreneurial environment with launch experience preferred
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience understanding payer environment and impact on patient access
- Energetic, driven, dynamic leader
- Must reside within the territory geography
- Ability to travel up to 50-75%, including overnight travel
- All reimbursement activities must comply with applicable legal and regulatory guidelines
Experience and Knowledge
- Current or recent CNS experience strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under aggressive timelines
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Comfortable with uncertainty and high expectations
