Role: Director, Field Medical – Rheumatology, leading a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to engage with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers in the US Rheumatology space. Objectives include strategic team leadership, scientific communication, and collaborative stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities encompass team management, mentorship, performance oversight, development of tactical plans aligned with medical strategy, and scientific training on Takeda's products and investigational compounds. The role involves fostering a high-performance culture, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and supporting MSL participation in professional meetings. The director also maintains scientific expertise and provides guidance on ethical and regulatory standards, directly impacting medical engagement and insights documentation. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in life/health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD preferred) or a Master’s in health sciences (minimum), with extensive pharmaceutical and Medical Affairs experience, including prior senior leadership, team management, and MSL roles. The candidate should have deep knowledge of rheumatology therapeutics, clinical data, and experience working in a regulated environment with GxP adherence. Strong communication skills, proficiency with digital tools, and the ability to travel 40-60% across the East US region are required.
