Director, Field Medical, Rheumatology - East

Role: Director, Field Medical – Rheumatology, leads and coaches a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to engage key opinion leaders and healthcare providers, aligning activities with Takeda US Medical strategy. Responsibilities include team management, performance oversight, developing tactical plans, scientific training, and cross-functional collaboration with Medical, Clinical, and Commercial teams. The role involves maintaining scientific expertise in rheumatology, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and supporting professional meetings. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in life/health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD preferred) or Master’s with extensive pharmaceutical industry and Medical Affairs experience. Proven leadership, strategic planning, team mentoring, and MSL experience required. Skills: strong communication, digital proficiency, knowledge of regulatory and ethical standards, and experience in the therapeutic area. High-value specifics: rheumatology focus, virtual/hybrid work setup in Florida or other US regions, with 40-60% travel. The position reports to the Senior Director, Field Medical, and entails managing a team that supports Takeda’s specialty pharmaceutical portfolio in the US.
