Director, Field Medical - Gastroenterology (West)

Role: Director, Field Medical - Gastroenterology (West) at Takeda, leading and mentoring a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to engage with key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and health entities aligned with strategic priorities. Responsibilities include developing and executing team tactical plans, managing digital engagement tools, overseeing MSL performance, fostering team collaboration and development, maintaining scientific expertise in gastroenterology and Takeda’s products, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional partners. The role involves participating in medical meetings, monitoring team activities, and managing the team budget. Qualifications: minimum Master’s in health sciences; extensive experience in pharma Medical Affairs and as an MSL or similar role; proven leadership and team management skills; excellent communication; proficiency with digital tools, including AI; understanding of pharma compliance and regulatory standards. Preferred: Doctoral degree (PharmD, MD, PhD), in-depth knowledge of gastroenterology therapeutic areas. Travel of 40-60% required for meetings, including some overnight stays. Work is field-based, with locations in CA, CO, AZ, or WA. The position reports to the Sr. Director, Field Medical, and offers a competitive salary range and benefits.
