Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance, compliance, and risk management across a global business area.
- Lead development and execution of EHS programs to prevent significant incidents, strengthen regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into business strategy, operational decision-making, and daily activities.
- Develop and mentor site and above-site EHS professionals; lead a global team to drive operational excellence, risk mitigation, and consistent EHS performance.
- Staff, mentor, and develop EHS professionals to ensure compliance; provide functional EHS guidance supported by site EHS leads.
- Develop programs and systems to prevent catastrophic safety and environmental events.
- Contribute to the global EHS vision and Long-Range Plan (LRP) strategy.
- Develop and maintain EHS standards, policies, systems, and methods; implement regulatory strategies to minimize liability and support growth.
- Manage country/federal/state/local EHS compliance for safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, emergency response, incident investigation, and EHS training.
Qualifications:
- BS in engineering, environmental, occupational safety, or Industrial Hygiene (Masterβs preferred).
- 15+ years EHS experience with 10+ years supervisory/managerial experience.
- Extensive EHS technical expertise (site level preferred).
- 5+ years leading staff of senior-level EHS professionals.
- International experience; ability to travel globally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; cross-functional leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to influence/negotiation with senior management, peers, customers, regulators, and officials.
- Experience managing budgets and financial responsibilities.
