Position Summary
The Director, Enterprise Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) leads the enterprise-wide EH&S strategy, governance, and core programs across global operations to protect employees, support business objectives, and ensure environmental, occupational health, and safety regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities
- Develop/execute enterprise EH&S strategy; establish global standards, policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Identify and mitigate enterprise EH&S risks; advise executive leadership; lead EH&S governance committees.
- Lead enterprise programs for: chemical safety/hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, laboratory safety, biosafety, bloodborne pathogens, ergonomics, hazard communication, SDS governance, product stewardship, CLP/global labeling, incident management (report/investigate/root cause/corrective action), contractor EH&S governance, emergency preparedness/response, environmental compliance, and EH&S audits/assurance.
- Ensure regulatory alignment and serve as senior technical resource; develop exposure assessment and risk-based controls.
- Provide functional leadership to site EH&S leaders; oversee external consultants; partner cross-functionally (Ops, Facilities, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, HR, Legal, Sustainability).
- Integrate EH&S into business operations, training, metrics/analytics, and continuous improvement (ISO 14001/45001 principles).

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree (OSH/IH/Env. Science/Eng/PH/Chem/Bio or related); 10+ years progressive EH&S experience (enterprise/regional/multi-site); experience building enterprise EH&S governance/risk programs; experience in regulated biotech/life sciences/healthcare environments; strong US OSHA & environmental regulatory knowledge; matrix leadership and influence.
Preferred: Master’s degree; CIH/CSP/CHMM or equivalent; product stewardship/SDS/CLP experience; REACH familiarity; ISO 14001 and/or 45001; enterprise audits/regulatory inspections; external consultant management.

Working Conditions/Skills (high level)
Hybrid/on-site; 20–30% travel; occasional after-hours; strong technical expertise, exposure assessment, regulatory interpretation, influence, strategic judgment, and communication.
