Role Summary
Director, Digital Strategy & Deployment leads development, evaluation, and execution of the EP/Neuro digital strategy, delivering digital transformation for the Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions Supply Chain. This role will drive ideation, development, and execution of the digital vision and will partner with E2E platform teams to prioritize initiatives, delivering innovation insights, analytics tools, and process automation. The role will influence across the organization and collaborate with Johnson & Johnson MedTech teams in digital, data science, and IT.
Responsibilities
- Development, evaluation, and execution of the EP/NEURO digital strategy
- Capture data needs across E2E Supply Chain in partnership with E2E Functions including JJSC, Commercial, R&D, IT, External Manufacturers
- Lead business SMEs, analyze the end-to-end value chain, identify digital opportunities, and break down into manageable components solvable by digital capabilities
- Develop business cases with strong quantitative and qualitative benefits
- Lead and represent EP/NEURO on the Digital Council to shape capabilities and drive the digital supply chain; oversee technologies to enable the digital supply chain; connect digital projects across EP/NEURO Supply Chain and JJSC; share best practices with other segments
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic industry associations and thought leaders; benchmark capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with external partners to supplement reporting development and execution
- Create and mature advanced data analytics and AI capabilities for E2E Supply Chain in partnership with IT and Global/Regional functions
- Develop and implement new insights and tools to signal opportunities and performance
- Implement process automation across functions to improve productivity, service, and operations
- Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to drive Industry 4.0 business cases and automate processes
- Lead projects to eliminate bottlenecks, de-risk processes, and coordinate relevant data functions
- Identify insights and drive business improvements with stakeholders
- Advance data-driven decision making by aligning data and data systems to EP/NEURO Supply Chain needs
- Diagnose data requirements and roadmap prior to digital project launch; designate data owners for long-term sustainability
- Outline processes for ad-hoc data extraction from source systems if not in data warehouse
- Assess technologies (e.g., blockchain) for applicable use cases
- Serve as a global expert on maximizing value through data and process automation
- Leverage Advanced Analytics with Planning to optimize processes such as demand forecasting, NPD launch curves, SLOB reduction
- Measure success through value realization of EP/NEURO SC digital initiatives with project leads
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of related experience required
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, Data Science or related field highly preferred; Advanced degree such as a Master’s degree is preferred
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to lead cross-functional global teams
- Demonstrated expertise in programming, statistical and simulation modeling, operations research, data science, and engineering tools
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain and data sources with a track record of developing and implementing data strategy using multiple data sources
- Ability to develop individuals within an organization
- Advanced knowledge of end-to-end product supply and distribution; strong understanding of core systems (ERP, MES, APS)
- Experience bridging technical and business disciplines, evaluating risks
- Project management experience
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology experience preferred
- Product cost management and budget management preferred
- Up to 20% travel domestically and internationally
- Flexible hours to accommodate multiple time zones when necessary

- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Information Technology, Data Science; advanced degree preferred
