Brief Description
- Lead DEC R&D Digital R&D Domain strategy and delivery as a trusted advisor to R&D leaders.
- Own strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of R&D platforms to ensure they are secure, scalable, and continuously optimized for measurable outcomes.
- Provide cross-functional domain leadership and technical ownership for digital platforms and capabilities across research informatics, clinical trial systems, regulatory information management, evidence generation, medical affairs, safety platforms, and adjacent data/workflow platforms.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Translate business priorities into DEC roadmaps, plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Prioritize enhancements with business/technology stakeholders; manage tradeoffs and deliver platform improvements.
- Mature the R&D product operating model (ways of working, governance, prioritization).
- Oversee day-to-day platform health and evolution across R&D functions.
- Ensure platforms meet GxP and other regulated requirements (validation, audit readiness, issue remediation).
- Partner to maintain controls for security, data integrity, access, and change management; monitor risks and escalate issues.
- Lead and develop capability leaders; manage vendor/partner relationships.
- Collaborate with architecture/delivery/business teams to align with enterprise standards.
- Support capacity planning, lifecycle management, upgrades, and service improvements.
- Plan integrations to enable reliable data flow; apply consistent integration/data standards.
- Enable AI/analytics features and integrate data/AI products into capability roadmaps.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 8–10 years progressive leadership delivering/managing R&D systems/products; Pharma experience required.
- Demonstrated ownership of R&D solutions across research, nonclinical, clinical, regulatory, evidence generation, medical affairs (and related integrations/reporting).
- Proven accountability in GxP-regulated environments (audit management, validation support, governance).
- Enterprise ownership experience for digital platforms in regulated operations.
- Enterprise mindset; product-oriented leader focused on measurable, value-based outcomes.
- Trusted advisor with strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science, technology, or Information Systems field.
