Director, Data & Technology

Role: Lead the development and execution of company-wide data, IT, software, and ML/AI capabilities to support Terrana Biosciences' agricultural biotech objectives. Responsibilities: direct 3-5 team members and coordinate external vendors; establish data governance, FAIR data practices, and resilient cloud data architecture; oversee deployment of software and ML/AI models into production workflows; manage IT services including cybersecurity and vendor relationships; serve as senior leader engaging with executive stakeholders on strategy, progress, and risks. Requirements: Bachelor's in computer science, bioinformatics, or related field; 10+ years in data engineering, software, or IT with proven strategy development and leadership; strong cloud experience (preferably AWS), expertise in data modeling, pipelines, APIs, and ML/AI deployment; knowledge of enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, and scientific workflows; excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Preferred: experience with LIMS systems like Benchling, AI-native tools, and workflow automation.
