Director, Data Product Engineering

Role: Lead product engineering for data and AI solutions at Natera, focusing on building and scaling domain data products within a data mesh architecture. Responsibilities: develop standardized, AI-ready data products and operating models; oversee cross-functional data product delivery; establish and enforce engineering standards; drive a 3–5x productivity improvement; embed AI-native development practices; ensure data quality, compliance, and observability; lead and mentor engineering teams; collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into scalable solutions. Requirements: 10+ years in data engineering, 5+ years leading analytics engineering teams, proficient in Python, SQL, dbt, Snowflake, AWS, and data pipeline orchestration; experience delivering regulated health data with HIPAA compliance; strong understanding of data mesh, headless data products, and AI-assisted development. Nice to Have: experience in genomics/clinical data, data contracts, RAG architectures, and enterprise AI tooling.
