Position Summary
- Director, Data Architecture & Analytics reporting to the Executive Director of Commercial Systems. Architect, design, and implement data-driven solutions across the technology landscape, starting with Commercial data for the first product launch and expanding to other enterprise data domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex data solutions across pharma domains (Commercial and Medical Affairs).
- Own accountability for the data warehouse and data aggregation vendors; manage from implementation through steady-state operations.
- During implementation: oversee vendor delivery vs. plans/timelines/requirements; manage issue resolution and change requests; ensure go-live readiness.
- Ongoing operations: manage vendor relationship, SLAs, platform stability, enhancements, contract/renewal management, and escalation resolution.
- Monitor channel partner data feeds (HUB, specialty pharmacy, 3PL, distributor/wholesaler) for accuracy/completeness; establish quality checks and enforce SLAs for reconciliation and issue resolution.
- Implement/govern master data management with third-party vendors.
- Lead/manage data integration solutions across platforms using tools such as Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, Boomi, Azure Data Factory, or Fivetran.
- Recommend data warehouse/AI solutions; provide technical leadership on data technologies/standards/processes/architecture.
- Establish scalable data architecture and roadmap beyond the initial Commercial launch.
- Troubleshoot data issues; design prevention solutions.
- Design/implement data architecture supporting BI and reporting.
- Advise senior Commercial and Medical Affairs stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or related; MBA/MS preferred or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years technical leadership in data strategy, data warehousing, data governance, business technology, or cloud.
- Hands-on: AWS/Azure; Snowflake/Databricks/Glue/S3/Amazon EMR/Redshift.
- 8+ years pharma data management with Commercial focus (data warehousing, master data management).
- Strong vendor management (RFPs/contracts, SLA management, vendor governance).
- Experience with channel partner data sources and data quality considerations.
- Strong stakeholder management; communicate technical strategy to senior leadership.
- Knowledge of data integrity (ALCOA+) and 21 CFR Part 11 in GxP.
- Experience with patient-level/PII data (HIPAA, GDPR) and privacy/security controls.
