Director, Data & AI Risk Management

Role: Lead enterprise risk management activities related to Data & AI at AstraZeneca, focusing on identifying, assessing, governing, and reducing risks across compliance, data protection, and AI governance domains. Responsibilities: provide risk advisory, translate complex regulatory requirements into clear decisions, lead cross-functional projects on standards and controls, develop risk dashboards, and support enterprise governance forums; collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and business units to ensure responsible AI use. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Data Science, or related field; significant experience in risk oversight within complex organizations; knowledge of Data & AI regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, EU AI Act, US Data Security Program; proven project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and risk reporting skills; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities. Preferred: Master’s degree or professional certifications in risk, AI, or compliance; experience in life sciences or highly regulated industries; familiarity with enterprise risk frameworks like ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI Risk Management; understanding of pharma R&D, operations, or commercial processes.
