Overview:
As Director, Brand Storytelling and Content Production, you will lead enterprise editorial strategy and multimedia storytelling through Gilead’s Content Lab.
Responsibilities:
- Set creative vision and visual standards; translate brand platform and narrative into integrated, multi-format story programs.
- Evaluate and direct human-centered storytelling connecting science, culture, innovation, and impact.
- Translate “one big idea” into multi-format content packages (films, features, photo series, social cuts, serialized content).
- Build scalable creative frameworks (visual systems, templates, story formats) to strengthen brand recognition.
- Establish intake, prioritization, and editorial governance for the Content Lab.
- Direct in-house and external creative teams (videographers, photographers, designers, editors, motion designers, producers).
- Build repeatable production workflows for hero content and agile formats; partner to extend stories across channels/platforms.
- Own visual quality bar across the corporate storytelling hub and owned channels.
- Apply editorial judgment, collaborate with subject matter experts, and establish a consistent voice/visual POV.
- Use audience insights and reputation intelligence; implement AI-enabled workflows; monitor trends and measure performance with analytics.
- Coach stakeholders; manage agencies/production companies/freelancers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s + 12+ years OR Master’s + 10+ years OR PhD + 8+ years.
- Experience in creative direction, brand storytelling, and content production.
- Experience leading multimedia storytelling programs in healthcare/biopharma/technology/media or large matrixed orgs.
- Portfolio demonstrating range across video, photography, design, and digital.
Preferred:
- Directing experience across creative roles via in-house and agency/freelance.
- Building brand identity/visual systems/story frameworks at enterprise scale.
- Strong instincts for translating complex topics into accessible narratives.
- Fluency across modern formats (documentary/high-production video, social-first video, photography-led storytelling).
- Experience in regulated/matrixed organizations; audience analytics and AI-enabled production workflows.

Benefits/Compensation:
- Salary range: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00. May include discretionary bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
