General Summary
- Seeking an experienced transactional attorney to support and counsel internal stakeholders across the drug development and manufacturing lifecycle.
- Key advisor to Clinical Science/Operations, CMC & Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, and other departments.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and execute clinical trial and site/investigator agreements; CRO/vendor services agreements; MSAs, work/change orders; CDMO development, supply, manufacturing services, quality, MTAs, and technology transfer arrangements.
- Review and advise on clinical trial documents (e.g., informed consent forms, letters of authorization, letters of indemnification).
- Advise on contractual risk allocation, indemnification, limitations of liability, IP ownership, data rights, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Review/approve external-facing materials and outreach initiatives.
- Support Legal Department policies, procedures, templates, and playbooks; improve contracts lifecycle management.
- Manage outside counsel.
Qualifications:
- JD required; admission in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (CA preferred but not required).
- 8+ years attorney experience; 5+ years in-house life sciences experience (public biotech/pharma preferred; large law firm life sciences experience preferred).
- Experience counseling clinical and manufacturing teams; strong contract drafting/negotiation under tight timelines.
- Knowledge of FDA/ICH/GxP and relevant laws (e.g., FDCA, FCPA/FCA/AKS, HIPAA, data privacy).
- Global clinical trial, IP/technology transactions experience beneficial; commercial dispute resolution experience.

- Service-oriented, cross-functional, high integrity/judgment, proactive issue escalation, leadership mindset, can manage aggressive timelines.
Compensation:
- Base salary range: $242,000–$282,000 (depends on location, experience, and skills).
