Main Purpose of Job:
Director Corporate Business Development (reports to VP Head of Business Development) is responsible for shaping and executing Immunocore’s Corporate Business Development strategy to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and evaluate external opportunities across oncology and autoimmune indications (platform technologies, early-stage assets, late-stage/commercial products).
- Translate corporate strategy into actionable search criteria; assess how opportunities enhance pipeline, platform capabilities, or commercial footprint.
- Lead licensing, collaboration, and M&A transactions end-to-end (outreach, term sheet development, negotiation, contract execution).
- Coordinate diligence across R&D, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial, legal, and finance teams.
- Prepare and present investment cases to senior leadership and executive committees; support Board-level materials as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with biotech companies, academic institutions, venture investors, and advisors.

Essential Qualifications (Required):
- Strong scientific background paired with business acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Deep understanding of biological therapeutics and evaluation of pre-clinical/clinical oncology and/or immunology opportunities.
- Experience scouting drug development partnerships (academic and commercial).
- Demonstrated execution across diverse deal types/structures (e.g., in-/out-licenses, platform deals, research collaborations).
- Established industry network.
- Knowledge of innovative alliance structures, biopharma BD trends, and competitive issues.
- Ability to lead scientific discussions with internal/external experts.
- Drive solutions to ambiguous, complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (PhD/MBA) in life sciences.
- Exposure to drug discovery/development in oncology.
- Minimum 10 years in biotech/pharma business development, venture capital investing, life sciences consulting, or related experience.
