Role Summary

Director, Commercial Advanced Analytics — The Advanced Analytics and Insights Director will play a critical role developing the Advanced Analytics and Insights Function to drive deeper insights, make predictions, and generate recommendations that optimize Neurocrine’s commercial portfolio. This role leads, mentors, and evaluates staff, collaborates across functions, and applies advanced analytics to inform decision making in channel strategy, customer targeting, patient journeys, promotional mix, ROI measurement, brand spend optimization, and sales force effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the utilization of advanced analytic techniques (AI/ML, predictive modeling) and algorithms using complex data to inform commercial applications including channel strategy, patient journeys, targeting, promotional mix, ROI measurement, and sales force effectiveness.
  • Utilize real-world data sources (anonymized longitudinal patient claims data, EMR, lab/diagnostic data) to conduct patient-level analytics.
  • Provide high-quality solutions to ad hoc analytic requests and shape key strategic decisions with senior stakeholders.
  • Direct and provide thought leadership for advanced analytical approaches, including AI/ML, aligned with business needs.
  • Create insightful visualizations and effectively communicate results to non-technical audiences.
  • Evolve analytics capabilities and tools to improve decision making for a growing product portfolio.
  • Lead story development and presentation of analytical insights to ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Provide subject matter input on key strategic issues.
  • Manage relationships and project management with external vendors and cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years; advanced quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Required: 10+ years in biotech/pharma/life sciences with experience in Business Analytics, predictive modeling, machine learning, omnichannel analytics, and patient-level data analytics.
  • Required: Track record of innovation with ML/statistical algorithms; proficiency with analytic tools (Excel, SAS, SPSS, SQL, Python, R, ML, S-plus/R, E-views, ILOG) and ability to learn new packages quickly.
  • Required: Ability to connect analytics with business questions and understand link between brand strategy and analytic insights.
  • Required: Excellent communication skills to convey analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Required: Ability to anticipate analytics trends and implement new tools to maintain leadership in pharma analytics.
  • Required: Experience with patient claims data and other large data sets.
  • Required: Strong analytical and organizational skills, including managing multiple projects, budget, resources, and cross-functional teams.
  • Required: Strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and ability to present to senior management.
  • Required: Ability to work independently and in a team with cross-functional collaboration.
