Remote Director, Clinical Operations, Oncology (Massachusetts - Virtual), reporting to Executive Director, Clinical Operations, Oncology.
Responsibilities/Goals:
- Lead and direct execution of multiple clinical program(s) within a Therapeutic Area Unit (TAU).
- Provide Clinical Operations leadership; manage COPLs and provide expert counsel for issue resolution.
- Ensure overall program execution (quality, budget, timelines) for assigned program(s).
- Oversee Strategic Partners/CROs/vendors to meet ICH-GCP and business objectives.
- Oversee inspection readiness; guide COPLs/COMs for inspection activities.
- Represent Clinical Operations in escalations with senior management and governance committees.
- Manage program budget planning and external spend; ensure financial accuracy and timely status reporting.
- Contribute to Clinical Development Plan(s)/operational strategy in support of Asset Strategy.
- Act as a role model for Takeda values; lead cross-functional initiatives.
- May provide operational due diligence for business development/in-licensing/alliances.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Life Sciences preferred); advanced degree highly desirable.
- 12+ years pharma experience; 9+ years clinical study management.
- Early phase and/or Phase 2/3; global/international programs.
- Oncology experience required.
- Line management experience advantageous.
- Expertise in global regulatory/compliance for clinical research (e.g., US CFR, EU CTD, ICH-GCP) and local requirements.
Skills:
- Project/program management and matrix leadership; supervisory experience.
- Teamwork, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving.
- Fluent business English; influence without authority; comfortable with ambiguity; entrepreneurial/innovative.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated): Base salary range $177,000–$278,080 (U.S.). Eligible for incentives and benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and well-being benefits.
