Role Summary
Director, Center Operations responsible for supervision and direction of all activities within the plasma collection center, including production, regulatory compliance, budget management, HR, and information systems. Focus on meeting production goals while maintaining regulatory compliance and delivering donor satisfaction in a safe environment. Acts as liaison with corporate office functions.
Responsibilities
- Plans and provides staffing and supervision as required by regulatory authorities to ensure donor safety and compliance.
- Ensures production targets are met using a plan–do–review–action cycle.
- Monitors donor flow to meet defined timeframes and seeks operational and financial efficiency improvements.
- Ensures annual production and expense budget targets are met.
- Oversees project plans for opening new centers and meets scheduled timeframes.
- Monitors inventory and ensures medical supplies and resources are used appropriately.
- Maintains and validates equipment to maximize donor flow.
- Ensures plasma shipments are ready for pickup as scheduled.
- Ensures staff on call for freezer response 24/7.
- Observes center operations regularly to maintain high standards.
- Develops mechanisms for donor feedback on customer service.
- Performs responsibilities related to look back of positive or unsuitable units.
- Sets a good work ethic example and maintains staff competence in required tasks.
- Provides routine feedback to supervisor and prepares management reports; shares updates with staff.
- Monitors advertising campaign effectiveness and provides feedback to supervisor.
- Provides frequent positive and constructive feedback to staff and administers annual evaluations as needed.
- Compliance: ensures trained staff support safe donation activity and center readiness for audits; coordinates with QA to resolve deviations and ensure audits are completed timely.
- Physical Requirements: works in a cold environment (-30°C for short periods), lifts up to 40 lbs, extended standing/bending, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, extended shifts may be required.
- Travel: ability to drive for extended periods and attend company/industry meetings or training as determined by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: College degree in business administration or biological sciences preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Four years in the medical field.
- Certification: CPR certified or ability to obtain certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
